Three Cane Whale gig 7 July: directions, timings

From Bath: turn right off the A431 just before the village of Kelston on the second of two farm tracks;
From Bristol: turn left off A431 just as you leave Kelston, on the first of two farm tracks.

There’s a wooden sign saying “Old Barn” facing in each direction.

Follow the track for 50 yards and enter through the gate at the end. Parking options are:

  • park outside the new barn and walk up the hill.
  • to make a delivery or if you have a¬†mobility impaired passenger feel free to drive the quarter mile up the farm track to the left of the new barn
  • for prearranged events there may be parking arranged just below the Old Barn.

If you need to park up at the Old Barn there is hard standing for three cars just off the track to the left of the barn. For events and in suitable weather you can park on the unploughed grass strip to the right of the track between Abbots Copse and the gate just before the barn itself.

This Google Earth link shows the location of the Old Barn as “Cotswold Way”; you can use it to get map, walking and driving directions.

The barn is off grid. It’s not a postal address. There are no services. There is a borehole for fresh water, and a diesel generator. All rubbish must be taken off site. The nearest post code is BA1 9AF.
